Festivals are typical events of the italian tradition in which you will taste the flavours of the land. Every town usually has its festival in a particular period.
There are some festivals during the period of August, here are some suggestions!
- In Carpino (near Foggia) you will find, during the month of august, a festival completely dedicated to meat and cheese: "I Piaceri della carne e del caciocavallo podolico" (the pleasures of meat and cheese). The caciocavallo is a particularly flavory type of cheese.
- Always around Foggia takes place the ham festival, in Faeto you can partecipate to the festival dedicated to cold cuts and cheese. It takes place the 4th of August.
- In Lecce, more precisely in Gemini, we find a manifestation with a curious name: "Sagra te l'arciprevitura". it is not just dedicated to the food, but also to art and culture with some exhibition inside the ancient buildings of the city centre (7th of August).
- Last but not least, the: "Sagra dei cicatelli" at Celle San Vito, Province of Foggia. The "cicatelli" are a typical Apulian shape of pasta, you will find cicatelli with a side of typical music and a great atmosphere in the month of August.
